Helical and Hydraulic Piers

Acculevel uses FASTEEL® Systems helical pier system, which is the best solution for structural support for new construction. The helical pier system is also quick and easy to install.

Piers can be used for foundation repair or to add additional load capacity to the foundation. The piers are installed around the base of the structure with very little soil disruption, usually a hole large enough to place a bracket under the foundation. After installation, the pier has bearing capacity both in compression and/or tension in the subsurface by transferring the structure’s load to the helical plates in the soil bearing strata.

FASTEEL® Systems helical piers are available in 2 7/8” OD pipe for up to 85 kips and 3 1/2” OD pipe for up to150 kips and are manufactured under the strict guidelines of ISO 9001:2000. Special brackets connect the pier to the structure. Then the pier is torqued into the soil to the desired capacity. Helical piers are screw-like anchors that are formed into the shape of a helix, or one turn of a screw thread. A special hydraulic-driven drive head uses torque to turn or screw the anchor into the ground until it reaches load bearing strata. A high quality 3 1/2” OD carbon steel pipe is used in applications where the fondation construction will allow.

FASTEEL® Systems Titan Hydraulically Driven Steel Pier is FASTEEL® Systems own patented improvement on the piering technology of the pipe pier. The hydraulically driven pier (HDP) system consists of high quality carbon steel piers that are driven through unstable soil to rock or load bearing strata. Each pier is individually load tested. The structure is stabilized with a patented uniform system to insure maximum practical recovery.

FASTEEL® Systems Titan Helical Steel Piering System has been utilized and proven in the heavy commercial industry for decades. The pier system consists of single or multiple bearing plates welded to steel shafts and are protected by coatings. The bearing plates are rotary installed into the ground, with extension sections being added, if required, to reach load-bearing strata. With available attachments for underpinning existing structures, tie-back for retaining and foundation walls, and new construction foundation attachments, the helical system is the most versatile foundation and tie-back system available. The helical system also stabilizes slabs subjected to vibration from heavy machinery allowing significant time and cost savings compared to other slab support methods.

Both piering systems utilize the patented FASTEEL® ULTrA Bracket, the strongest and most versatile bracket in the industry. The support bracket is attached to the foundation from below and allows for vertical adjustment.
